See Ann Filley for details. COLLEGE ADDRESSES NEEDED! We are creating a page in the church directory of college students from our congregation who are not living at home. Please contact the church office with your children's campus and email addresses so they can be contacted when they are away at school. Thanks! MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES: Only one more teacher is needed to share a position teaching Kindergarten & First Grade church school this year. Two leaders are also still needed for Girls’ Club on Finale nights and one leader is being sought for Kidz Club. Please contact Paula Triezenberg at 272-8424 if you are interested or want more information. WORSHIP TIME CHANGE: Council has decided to change the time of the morning worship service to 10:30 AM. A full rationale for the decision is in the latest Sanctuary Newsletter. The change will begin on September 7, with church school starting the following week. The new Sunday schedule will be: 9:15–10:15 church school, 10:30 worship followed by coffee and fellowship. NURSERY VOLUNTEERS: We need more volunteers to help in the nursery on Sundays during both the worship time and the church school hour. Typically three people at a time are assigned to work in the nursery once every two months, but this is flexible and you can volunteer as many times or as periodically as you want. I will be taking care of the nursery scheduling this year. The other nursery coordinators are Julie Gabrielse, Lisa Gloege, and Katie Mendham (309-3988). Please direct your nursery related questions to any of us! Thanks! Soo Kim. CHURCH-WIDE PAINTBALL EVENT! With a bumper crop of newborns this spring, we have the opportunity to help nurture these little ones with our prayers. Please see Andrea Mihut or Sheryl Dysert for a child's prayer reminder card or take one from the bulletin board fellowship hall. THERE ARE SEVERAL MUSICAL ways to involved at church this fall. Please take a moment to consider joining one or all of the following activities. If you are interested in participating please contact David Banga. Adult choir: This year we will meet on Wednesday nights from 7-8 p.m. Childcare is provided. This group requires no previous experience or training, and everyone is more than welcome! Finale! Band: This is a smaller group that meets every other week before the Finale! services to prepare the music for that night. “Extras”: From time to time we will be having extra musical elements in our worship services: everything from small singing groups to instrumentalists (perhaps even hand bells this year!). |
